1. On the **Connect & Mix** tab, click **Data Streams** and then **Data Streams list**.
2. Select the data stream you’re assigning as a parent data stream and click **Edit**.
3. Scroll down to **Parent Child settings**.
4. From the **Parent Data Stream** dropdown list, select the data stream to set as the parent data stream.
5. To view the streams in the parent-child data pool, click **View All**.
6. In the **Data Updates Permissions** section, determine how your data stream feeds the parent-child dimensional pool with these options:

    ![Data updates permissions attributes](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-salesforce_datorama-264-0-0-production-enus/d38a342d-dd4a-4af8-8343-f372280a75dd/salesforce_datorama/images/harmonize/dato_harmonize_parentchild_atts.png)

**Update Attributes** (1) - Updates existing mapped attributes in the parent-child data pool every time the data stream is ingested.

**Inherit Attributes and Hierarchy** (2) - Prevents existing attributes and hierarchies from being updated.

**Update Attributes and Hierarchy** (3) - Updates existing mapped attributes and the media buy, campaign, or site hierarchy in the parent-child data pool at every data ingestion.

    ![Note](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-salesforce_datorama-264-0-0-production-enus/d38a342d-dd4a-4af8-8343-f372280a75dd/images/icon_note.png)

Note Selecting this option enables the **Override Media Buy Hierarchy** option in the **More Options** section and can’t be disabled.
7. Save your changes.
8. To apply the changes, the child data stream must be reprocessed. Recreating your data can have major effects on the data. For more information see [Re-Process, Re-Run and Re-Create](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.dato_data_manage_changes_re.htm&language=en_US).
9. Select how to reprocess the data, and then click **Recreate**.
