# Multi-Factor Authentication in Marketing Cloud Intelligence

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) requires users to enter two or more pieces of evidence, or factors, to prove identification. One factor is something the user knows, such as a username and password combination. Other factors are verification methods that the user has in possession, such as an authenticator app or security key. All users must have a registered MFA method in order to access the Marketing Cloud Intelligence platform directly.

Note If you use single sign-on (SSO) to access the Marketing Cloud Intelligence platform, you’re required to use MFA for your SSO identity provider. See [Salesforce Multi-Factor Authentication FAQ](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000396727&type=1&language=en_US).

- **[Supported Verification Methods in Marketing Cloud Intelligence](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.dato_getstarted_security_mfa_methods.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
When a user logs in to Marketing Cloud Intelligence for the first time using Multi-Factor Authentication, the user must select at least one verification method. It’s recommended to provide users with several verification options.
- **[Manage and Reset Multi-Factor Authentication From Your Profile in Marketing Cloud Intelligence](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.dato_getstarted_security_mfa_user_profile.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
You can reset MFA from your profile. After MFA is reset, you are prompted to select a verification method the next time you log in.

All users must have a registered MFA method to access the Marketing Cloud Intelligence platform directly. Admins can reset an MFA recovery process for users that lost, want to change or add an authentication method. Users can also reset MFA from their Profile.
