# Create a Data Report

A data report is based on the data that exists in your workspace. You can save it as an Excel, CSV, TSV, or TXT file.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d44244e38">REQUIRED USER ROLE</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="REQUIRED USER ROLE" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d44244e38 ">To create and manage reports </td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d44244e38 ">Admin or Power User</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

1. On the **Analyze & Act** tab, click **Reports** in the left panel.
2. Click the plus (**+**) icon.
3. Enter the general information:
    1. Name the report, and select the export format. To pull your data into BigQuery, select **CSV**.
    2. For **Purge Report History**, enter the number of days after which the report is deleted. For example, if you enter 30, the report’s history is deleted after 30 days.

        Note The default maximum number of days you can use the history is 180 days.
    3. Optionally, select **Include the Description in the report**.
4. Configure the report:
    1. Select the time period that you want to pull data from or enter a custom date.
    2. Select the measurements you want pulled into the report, for example, email sends. You can select up to 100 measurements.
    3. Select the dimensions you want pulled into your report, for example, send date. You can select up to 80 dimensions.
    4. Depending on the format that you select, you can choose how to sort the data.
    5. (Optional) To apply a filter to the report, click **Add Filters**.
5. (Optional) Add Advanced Report settings:
    1. Assign the report a different name from the one you entered in the General section. For example, you could create a general name for a report familiar to an admin role, but give the extracted report a different name for the recipient of this report. You can also add tags in the report file name field. For example, {DATA\_START\_DATE} and {DATA\_END\_DATE} automatically enter the report’s start and end dates to the report name.
    2. To include headers in the report, select **Headers**.
    3. To split the pages when exporting, select an option from the **Split Files By** dropdown menu.
    4. To create a unique encryption key to encrypt and decrypt your files, select **GPG Encryption**.
    5. Define how to display unrelated measurements.
    6. To only retrieve data created or updated during the selected time range, select **Retrieve By Update Date**. Selecting this option replaces the date range defined in the Configuration section.
6. Define scheduling and delivery methods for the report.

- **[Unrelated Measurements in Data Reports](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.dato_anlyz_reports_data_unrelated.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
    When you query entities from different data types with different measurements that are unlinked in the platform, unrelated measurements appear in your report. For example, a report pulling Ads data— Impressions and a measurement that isn’t in the Ads data type—visits, results in unrelated measurements in your report.
