Use Case: Target Clients with High Uninvested Cash

An advisor wants a list of active clients who hold a large uninvested cash balance, so they can propose investment opportunities. To make the data available, an admin combines the CRM Account object with external brokerage positions and investment activity into a single DMO with a batch data transform. The transform joins the sources on the client's external ID and calculates metrics such as CashPercentage and DaysSinceLastInvestment, and then writes the results to a DMO, such as ClientInvestmentOpportunity, that joins to CRM on the Salesforce Account ID.

An Actionable List Definition exposes the DMO with Account as the Source Object and the display fields that the advisor needs, such as cash balance, portfolio value, and cash percentage. The advisor builds a list from the definition and filters to clients whose status is active, whose cash balance is at least US$300K, whose cash percentage is at least 20%, and whose last investment is within 6 months. The list builder shows the DMO's columns for review, and the advisor refreshes it to keep the data current. These DMO values are for filtering and review only. Salesforce never writes them to the Account record, and it stores only the CRM reference as an actionable list member.
