# Update Share Settings for External Users

Adjust the Organization-Wide Defaults to provide read-only access to essential energy and utility objects for external users.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sharing Settings, and select **Sharing Settings**.
2. In the Organization-Wide Defaults section, click **Edit**.
3. Set the **Default External Access** to **Read Only** for the following objects:
    
    - Attribute Definition
    - Attribute Picklist
    - Attribute Category
    - Attribute Category Attribute
    - Billing Account
    - Catalog
    - Decision Matrix
    - Energy Service Agreement
    - Expression Set
    - Location
    - Product
    - Product Classification
    - Product Classification Attribute
    - Product Component Group.
    - Product Attribute Definition (ensure this is set for both internal and external users).
    - Service Point
    - Unit of Measure
4. Save your changes.
