# Set Up New Connections with AI Tools

Use these steps to set up new connections with Claude or Agentforce Vibes and the Salesforce CLI.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col style="width:100%"></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: All Editions with Energy &amp; Utilities - Growth</td></tr></tbody></table>

Before you begin, confirm that Claude or Agentforce Vibes and the Salesforce CLI are installed and that the agent is connected to your org as an authenticated admin user with the required permissions. See [Requirements](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.energy_new_connections_requirements.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before you set up new connections with AI tools, confirm that your org has the required licenses, permissions, and a supported edition. You also need admin credentials, the Salesforce CLI, and an AI coding agent such as Claude Code or Agentforce Vibes to run the eu-new-connection-setup recipe.").

1. Authenticate and initialize.

In the AI agent CLI, provide the target org URL. Run the login command that the agent generates (for example, a command containing the instance URL) in your terminal, log in through the browser that opens (enter your admin username and password, then click **Allow**), and return to the CLI so the agent verifies the connection and identifies the org. Start with the initiating prompt in Agentic Tips.
2. Turn on the org preference.

The agent presents the first phase: enabling **Individual Application Milestone Enablement**. It warns that this action can be irreversible. To proceed, type `yes`. The agent turns on the setting through the API.
3. Simplified SLA setup

When the agent asks whether to proceed with a simplified SLA setup for milestone tracking, type `yes`.
4. Profile creation

The agent asks to clone the profile or turn on required permissions to the existing profile.
5. User creation

When the agent asks whether to create a New Connection Manager user, enter `no` to skip user creation for this path. Because you skip user creation, assign the profile and permission set manually afterward (see [Design Considerations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.energy_new_connections_design_considerations.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Keep these design considerations in mind when you set up new connections headlessly with AI tools.")).
6. Field-level security

The agent configures field-level security for Individual Application Milestone fields and Entity Milestone fields.
7. Permission set assignment

The agent packages the required permission sets. Because you skipped user creation, assign the **E&U Cloud Program Access** permission set manually afterward.
8. Flexipage creation

Choose whether to create the Individual Application record page (default layout plus a Milestone Tracker tab). The agent can build the page but can't activate it, so activate it manually later.
9. Summary and next steps

The agent outputs a summary of completed, skipped, and failed steps and lists the manual post-setup tasks.
