# Set Up Integration User for Tariff Comparison

Keep automated and external calls separate from interactive users by running Tariff Comparison APIs through a dedicated, API-only account. Set up an integration user to run these APIs from an automated process or an external system without signing in as a person.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col style="width:100%"></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

Integration user uses the Salesforce Integration user license and the Salesforce API Only System Integrations profile. This profile is a standard, minimal-access profile that comes with the license and permits API access without a user interface. Because the account is API-only, it can't log in to Salesforce or an Experience Cloud site interactively.

Set up an integration user when an external system or automated job calls the Tariff Comparison APIs, or when you want to test the APIs outside of an interactive session. This account is optional. If your org runs Tariff Comparison only through standard users or Experience Cloud site users, you don't need one.

After you assign the required permission sets, the integration user calls the pricing, product configuration, and order APIs that Tariff Comparison relies on, including placing orders and initiating amendments, cancellations, and renewals. The permission sets grant only the access that these APIs need, so the account stays scoped to its purpose.

Create a dedicated, API-only user so that external systems and automated processes can call the Tariff Comparison APIs. This task is required only when you use an integration user.
