# New Connections Requirements

Before you set up new connections with AI tools, confirm that your org has the required licenses, permissions, and a supported edition. You also need admin credentials, the Salesforce CLI, and an AI coding agent such as Claude Code or Agentforce Vibes to run the eu-new-connection-setup recipe.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col style="width:100%"></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: All Editions with Energy &amp; Utilities - Growth</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Prerequisites**

- [Set up your org](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/setup-overview.html) for the Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers.
- Activate the [Headless 360 MCP Server](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/headless-360-mcp.html).
- [Connect your coding agents](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/client-connection-overview.html).
- Access to a Salesforce Energy & Utilities org with all necessary licenses.
- Login URL and admin credentials for the target org.
- Access to an AI agent tool configured to run the setup skill (for example, Claude Code or Agentforce Vibes running the setup skill that executes the **_eu-new-connection-setup_** Setup Operation Recipe (SOR) files).

Note For Claude Code, install the [Salesforce Development plugin](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/salesforce-skills-plugins/guide/overview.html), which provides Salesforce-specific skills and org context through hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
- Salesforce CLI

**Permissions**

- EAndU Cloud Program Access
- Program and Benefit Management

## Suggested Technology and Experience

The source demonstrates an interactive AI agent skill run from a command-line coding tool, such as Claude Code or Agentforce Vibes, that executes eu-new-connection-setup SOR files to configure the org and pauses for admin confirmation. When a headless metadata call isn't available, the workflow falls back to the Salesforce CLI — see Agentic Tips for the fallback prompt.

The workflow relies on these components:

| Component | Purpose | Availability | Required |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Coding agent (Claude Code or Agentforce Vibes) | Reads org state and executes the setup steps | Yes | Yes |
| Headless 360 Model Context Protocol (MCP) server | Exposes the headless setup/metadata routes the agent calls | Yes | Yes |
| Salesforce CLI (`sf`) | Fallback to deploy metadata when a headless route is unavailable | Yes | Conditional (fallback) |

## Agentic Tips

- **Recommended initiating prompt:** `Setup EU new connection of Energy & Utilities cloud end to end in the org [Insert Org URL].`
- **Interaction pattern:** The agent pulls an execution plan and presents each phase. It inspects the org, proposes actions, and pauses at critical junctures to ask the admin for confirmation or input (for example, whether to run the simplified SLA setup, create a user, or build the record page).
- **Approvals:** The agent warns before actions that can be irreversible and prompts you to confirm (type `yes` or `no`, then press Enter). Confirmation points in the tested path include enabling the Individual Application Milestone Enablement preference, the simplified SLA setup, user creation, and Flexipage creation.
- **Context to provide:** The target org URL. Authenticate through the browser sign-in that the agent opens (enter your admin username and password and click **Allow**). Never paste credentials into a prompt.
- **Verify:** The agent outputs a summary table of completed, skipped, and failed steps, plus a list of manual post-setup tasks.
