# Configure the Scheduled Application Approval Flow

Use the Scheduled Application Approval flow template to automatically trigger the application approval process at a certain time every day for all submitted applications in your org.

The scheduled application approval flow launches the flow from the ApprovalFlowName field of the ApplicationFormTemplate record associated with the active program. By default, the TriggerApplnApproval flowis launched.

See the Trailhead module [Flow Builder Basics](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/flow-basics?trail_id=automate_business_processes).

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, and then click **Flows**.
2. In the list of flows, click **Scheduled Application Approval**.

The selected flow opens in Flow Builder.
3. Edit the time and frequency of the schedule-triggered flow.
    1. Click the **Start** element.
    2. Click **Edit** for Flow Starts and Frequency.
    3. Select the start date, start time, and frequency, and then save your changes.

You can schedule the flow to be triggered once, daily, or weekly.
4. Set the filters on the applications that you want the schedule-triggered flow to pick up.
    1. Click the **Start** element.
    2. Click **Edit** for Object and Conditions, and then save your changes.

The schedule-triggered flow template picks up only the Individual Application objects that have the status field set to Submitted, and the category field set to Program.
5. Exclude the applications that are modified in the previous minute.
    1. Click the first **Decision** element.
    2. Click **Edit Element**.

The decision element sorts all applications modified in the previous minute to "Yes". Only the applications that were modified more than one minute before the scheduled trigger are picked up in the approval process.
6. Optionally, to launch a custom flow instead of the default Trigger Application Approval flow, add a subflow element.
    1. Click the second **Decision** element.
    2. Click **Edit Element**.
    3. Add the name of your custom flow in the Decision element.
    4. Add a branch under the Decision element that links to your custom flow.

Note You must add the name of your custom flow in the ApprovalFlowName field of the ApplicationFormTemplate record associated with the active program the customer is applying for.

The Launch Application Approval element launches a child flow for submitted applications. To learn more about running a flow within a flow, see the Trailhead module, [Flow Builder Logic](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/flow-build-logic?trail_id=build-flows-with-flow-builder).
