# Enable the Audit Trail Tab

Make the Audit Trail tab available for System Administrators so that they can access Audit Trail.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Professional</strong>, <strong>Starter</strong>, and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter **Profiles**, and then select Profiles.
2. Click **Edit** next to the System Administrator profile.

    Note Audit Trail is available only to users with the System Administrator profile.
3. In the Tab Settings section, select **Default On** from the Audit Trail dropdown list.
4. Save your changes.

    Note Data is logged in Audit Trail even if the Audit Trail tab isn’t enabled.
