# Turn On Time-Awareness

Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator (DRO) supports both time-agnostic and time-aware data. During decomposition and assetization, time-awareness evaluates timelines to identify changes in fulfillment asset quantities and attributes over time.

- Before you enable time-awareness, run the migration scripts that move your existing time-agnostic data to the time-aware model. See [Migrate Fulfillment Assets from Time-Agnostic to Time-Aware](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.dro_time_aware_fulfillment_migration.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Attribute values of Fulfillment Asset (FA) records created before time-awareness reflect only the most recent assetization state and not the values that were in effect during each asset state period in the past. When you submit an Amend, Renew, or Cancel order on these assets, decomposition can derive the wrong fulfillment order line item action for the affected period. Also, the resulting fulfillment asset state period (FASP) values can be incorrect.").
- Update your orchestration plans that were designed for time-agnostic data so they can handle the fulfillment order line item outputs that time-aware decomposition generates.

    Note

    - Staged assetization of ramp segments is supported only for time-aware fulfillment assets. For more information, see [Staged Assetize Step](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.dro_staged_assetize_step.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use a staged assetization step to assetize standalone products or product bundles while other order line items are in process.").
    - Once you turn on time-awareness, you can't turn it off.

Time-awareness is turned off by default. To turn it on, complete these steps.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter and then select **Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator Settings**.
2. Turn on Time-Awareness.
