Data sources can include objects, files, CRM Analytics datasets and the supported data source types differ based on the definition's runtime platform. Before you add transformation nodes in a definition, add the data sources. Every definition must have at least one data source node."). For information about reference nodes, see [View Reference Nodes](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.dpe_view_reference_nodes.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Select a node and view the details of other nodes that currently reference elements of it, such as node sources and mapped fields. These nodes that reference the selected node are known as reference nodes. If you make changes to a node, it’s helpful to know its reference nodes to anticipate any changes that need to be made to them, too.").

Use the ![The three node view control buttons are shown: zoom out, fit to screen, and zoom in.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-ind-data_processing_engine-264-0-0-production-enus/80e06924-e6c0-4b82-81cf-e99ccd77d857/data_processing_engine/images/node_canvas_viewctrls.png) button to zoom in or out or fit the layout to the screen.

To view the nodes contained in your definition, click **Nodes and Variables**.
