Use Data Preview to inspect and validate node-level data transformations in an
on-demand definition before you activate and run it. Data Preview for on-demand definitions
follows the same workflow as standard Data Processing Engine Data Preview.
Required Editions
To generate a preview, open an on-demand definition in the Data Processing Engine builder,
configure input variables and data source filters, and click Generate Data
Preview. Click each node on the canvas to review the transformed results. For
detailed steps and settings, see Validate Definition Design on the Data Processing Engine Builder with Data
Preview.
Data Preview Limitations for On-Demand Definitions
A few node types aren't supported in Data Preview for on-demand definitions. These nodes
don't appear in the builder when you're in Data Preview mode:
- Context data source nodes
- Data source subtype nodes
- Composite writeback nodes
The limitations that apply to standard Data Processing Engine Data Preview also apply to
on-demand definitions. For the full list, see the Data Preview Considerations and
Limitations section in Validate Definition Design on the Data Processing Engine Builder with
Data Preview.
