# Select a Prediction Duration and Historical Datasets

You can generate prediction of an event happening during a specific time period. The model determines historical trends based on the datasets that you provide.

### Required Editions

Selecting the prediction duration and datasets is optional and dependent on the template configuration type.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Industries Cloud Einstein, and then select **Scoring Framework**.
2. On the card of the template configuration that you want to use, click ![Quick actions menu button](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-ind-ai_accelerator_scoring_framework-264-0-0-production-enus/579cbc22-5fe0-45e4-b0a0-608ab8690ae6/ai_accelerator_scoring_framework/images/quick_action_menu.png), and select **Edit**.
3. For Select Prediction Duration & CRM Analytics Datasets, click **Set Up**.
4. Select the number of days for which you want to generate predictions.
5. Select the CRM Analytics datasets that contain the data for determining historical trends between the target variable and input features.
    
    The dataset must contain data for the selected number of days in the past.
6. To continue defining the template configuration, click **Save & Continue**.
    
    You can also save your changes and return to the Scoring Framework Setup page.

Example

A financial institution uses Scoring Framework to get predictions about accounts that sales representatives can focus on for the next 30 days to maximize revenue. The financial institution’s Salesforce admin selects 30 as the prediction duration. The admin then selects the CRM Analytics datasets that contain historical data to use to determine the trend of revenue generated from accounts in the past 30 days.
