Note In the Service Appointment object, ensure that the field-level security of the Source System Identifier, Status Reason, Source System, and Parent Record Type fields is set to visible for all profiles.

Statuses are grouped into four categories: Scheduled, Cannot Complete, Canceled, and Completed. Each status must map to one of the predefined status categories. If the status categories make sense to your users, you can reuse the status categories as statuses.

You can have multiple values for a category, but multiple categories can’t map to the same status value.

1. From Setup, click the Object Manager tab.
2. Click **Service Appointment**, then click **Fields & Relationships**.
3. Click **Status**.
4. In the Status Picklist Values section, select **New**, to create an appointment status value.
    1. Enter a value for Label. For example, Delayed.
    2. Enter the same value for API Name.
    3. Select a status category.
    4. Save your changes.
    5. Repeat these steps for each status your users need.
