System Administration for Order Management

The topics in this section describe the setup and operation of Industries Order Management, as well as integration with various environments. This section also covers security, with a focus on encryption and protecting personally-identifiable information.

  • OM Standard: Platform Events for Orchestration
Starting with the Spring '21 release, new Order Management Standard customers use the PlatformEvents mode by default, instead instead of BatchApex mode. Customers using (or upgrading from) earlier versions have to make a few changes.
  • Order Management Plus Disaster Recovery
This topic provides an overview of the Disaster Recovery procedures as implemented for Order Management Plus, which runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Order Management Plus: Overview of Synced Delta Objects
When a change is made in a synchronizable catalog entity, a job starts that collects all the changes (or "deltas") that have been made to those entities, then pushes those changes to Order Management Plus. Once all the changes are pushed, then Order Management Plus components re-synchronize the catalog cache.
  • OM Plus Data Event Streaming
OM Plus can automatically send a list of events to a Kinesis data stream, where you use your own tools to consume the data (for example, load it into your data warehouse for analysis).
  • Configuring or Running the OM Plus Status Job
The OM Plus Status job checks that OM Plus components are running and properly connected to Salesforce. If the job finds that OM Plus is offline, then it sets the status appropriately and new orders are placed in a queue.
  • Add a Custom Setting to Order Management
Sometimes the XOM Custom Setting that you expect to see isn't in the list of Order Management custom settings. In that case, you can add a new custom setting.
  • OM Plus: Queued Orders
When orders are submitted from CPQ to Order Management Plus, they are placed in a persistent queue. If Order Management Plus is down, or a catalog synchronization is in progress, the order is held in the queue until communication is restored.
  • Preventing New User Accounts from Blocking Order Submission
You can avoid product catalog synchronization for new and modified users who do not have access to Order Management Plus.
  • OM Plus: Assign a User Profile to a User
User profiles help you manage user access to Order Management Plus. For example, a user profile can control read or write access or permission to particular functionality such as the Database SQL Query Runner.
  • Named Credentials Support for Order Management Standard
Salesforce manages all authentication for callouts that specify a named credential as the callout endpoint. A named credential specifies the URL of a callout endpoint and its required authentication parameters in one definition.
  • Open the XOM Administration Panel
The Industries XOM Administration panel provides a single interface to perform many upgrade and maintenance tasks for Industries Order Management. This page describes the main options on the panel and how they work.
  • XOM Administration Panel Options
The XOM Administration Panel allows you to control many aspects of Industries Order Management.
  • Order Management Plus: Pushing an Order to Salesforce
If you experience a sync failure from OM Plus to Salesforce, you can re-initiate the sync.
