After you create a group, you can continue to work with the group by adding and removing members. For example, if you add new locations or subscribers in the enterprise quote or enterprise order, or if you need to expand or reduce the scope of a group.
This feature is part of the Communications Cloud managed package.
For example, if you have a group of subscribers that is comprised of upper management and another group for executives, you might want to move subscribers with the title Senior Director from one group to another. You can do this by modifying a group.
You can't modify a default group. You can modify only custom groups. Default groups get updated automatically when you update a quote member's or order member's details. You can also modify groups with an expected member count.
Perform similar steps to modify groups of locations.
- On the enterprise quote page or enterprise order page, go to the Subscriber tab.
- If you want to view subscribers by groups, select the grouping you want. If you select Custom Group, you can see how your group members are assigned to various custom groups. Members who aren't part of a custom group are listed under No Group. If you want to view members without grouping, in Group by, select No Grouping.
-
Select the subscribers that you want to add. You
can select subscribers either individually or by group. For example, you can use
one of the default groups to view subscribers grouped by title, state, last name
and so on. Or you can use a custom group - that is, a group that you've created.
In the example used above, let's say you have grouped Senior Directors in a
custom group. Select that group. All members of the group are selected and the
total number of members selected is updated.
Tip
When you select members from a custom group and add them to another group, they'll be moved out of their current group, so you don't have to worry that members might inadvertently end up in multiple custom groups. If you move all the members of one group into another group, then one group will have no members. That's fine, you can either remove the group or add members to it later.
However, if you add members from a default group to a custom group, they aren't removed from the default group. You also can't add members to a default group.
As soon as you select a member or group, the available actions are displayed.
- Click Add to Group. Select the group that you want to add the selected members to, or create a new group if required. Then click Save.
-
Remove subscribers from a group.
- On the enterprise quote page or enterprise order page, go to the Subscriber tab.
-
In Group by, select Custom Group.
If you specify No Grouping in Group by , you can directly select the subscriber that you want to remove from a group. However, it's recommended that you select Custom Group. This allows you to see which groups each subscriber belongs to.
-
Select the subscribers that you want to remove
from a group. If required, you can select entire groups as well. All
the members of the group are selected.
As soon as you select a member or group, the available actions are displayed.
-
Click Remove from
Group.
The selected members are moved to the No Group list. If you selected all the members of a group, the group is left with no members. You can either remove the group or add members to it later.
