Order Management Standard supports many-to-one (M:1) attribute propagation in multi-level decomposition. For M:1 decomposition, Order Management Plus displays multiple assets for a single Inventory Item and multiple Source Order Items for a single decomposed Order Item.
A common use case for a many-to-one order decomposition may involve a payload request for a specific fulfillment system that requires information defined on a commercial order item which is different from the natural source item for the Resource-Facing Service (RFS) modeled for that system. For example, when activating the modem for the Broadband Service in provisioning, you need to send a service identifier that is defined and captured on the Internet Service line item. The natural decomposition in this case would be Modem > RFS Modem. To fetch the service identifier from the Internet Service, you need to define a decomposition for Internet Service > RFS Modem. To ensure that it works correctly and only one RFS Modem FRL is generated with information from both sources, set the Scope of the RFS Modem to “Account” or “Order".
If multiple decomposition relationships are defined for the same technical product and multiple mapping rules are defined for the same destination attribute, the attribute value from the first order line item is mapped to the destination fulfillment line item.
