# Prepare Your External Data for Subscriber Churn Model

To make sure that the factors in the churn model have the latest data, the service provider must update this data from the Billing and Rating system regularly (daily).

 
| Field Name | Description |
| --- | --- |
| ActivityDate | Date on which a subscription is recharged or when the usage data is recorded. |
| SubscriptionID | A valid CRM subscription ID. |
| DataUsageinGB | Data usage on a specific date for a subscriber. |
| TopupAmount | Amount used to recharge a subscription. |

If you created a CSV file for the [Analytics for Communication-Consumer](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_template_comms_consumer.htm&type=5&language=en_US) app, you can reuse the file.

## Choose How to Import and Update Your External Data

You can get the external data for churn model consumption into Salesforce in these ways:

- Configure one of the 50+ [external connectors](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_integrate_connectors_remote.htm&type=5&language=en_US) to import the subscription data into your model. Use the [External Subscription Data](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.comms_install_the_churn_prediction_einstein_discovery_templates.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "By using the churn-prediction app templates, you can sync external communications data and then consume the data to generate training or scoring datasets and predict churn.") template to import external data into Salesforce.

- If you choose to upload the subscription data in the [CSV format](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.bi_dataset_create.htm&type=5&language=en_US), as done in the template, make sure that the field labels in the file match the field labels mentioned in the [data preparation activity](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.comms_prepare_your_external_data.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To make sure that the factors in the churn model have the latest data, the service provider must update this data from the Billing and Rating system regularly (daily).").
