Review the key terms, objects, and concepts for linear relationships in Revenue Cloud for Communications.
- Relies On Rule
- A rule stating that a source product relies on a related product. For example, a VoIP service relies on internet access.
- Source Product
- The product that relies on another product (the dependent product).
- Related Product
- The product that a source product relies on (the product being depended on).
- Target Product
- Another name for the related product. It's the product at the target end of a Relies On rule, the one the source product relies on.
- Source Classification
- A product classification used as the source of a Relies On rule. The rule then applies to every product in that classification, instead of to a single source product.
- Target Classification
- A product classification used as the target (related) product of a Relies On rule. The source product can then rely on any product within that classification, instead of a single related product.
- Forward Cardinality
- The number of related products that a source product requires, expressed as a minimum and a maximum.
- Minimum Cardinality
- Sets whether the relationship is optional or mandatory. A minimum of 0 means optional. A minimum of 1 or higher means mandatory.
- Maximum Cardinality
- The largest number of related products that you can link to one source product. The highest value is 10.
- Circular Dependency
- Two products that rely on each other directly. Salesforce doesn't allow circular dependencies. For example, if Product A relies on Product B, you can't create a rule where Product B relies on Product A.
- Automatic Linking
- When you add a source product and the cart already contains exactly one eligible related product for the same recipient, Salesforce creates the link for you. Salesforce evaluates the link once, after the save completes.
- Related Assets
- The assets that a given asset relies on. These assets appear next to that asset in the asset table.
