# Disconnect Promotions in Enterprise Sales Management (Managed Package)

Disconnect a promotion from product bundles using the working cart or the Summary tab. You can remove a promotion during the initial quoting process or later, after the products become assets.

### Required Editions

![Managed Package Icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-ind-communications-264-0-0-production-enus/444efb86-ea1e-477e-afbc-56eaac192eaf/communications/images/media_package_icon.png) _This feature is part of the Communications Cloud managed package._

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions with Enterprise Sales Management.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Standard user permissions that grant the ability to access the Enterprise Sales App and manage quotes are required.

When you disconnect a promotion on a MACD (Move, Add, Change, Disconnect) quote or MACD order, any overrides on one-time charges remain unaffected, because one-time charges aren't carried forward from assets to order line items.

Disconnecting a promotion can trigger a penalty check. Penalty rules apply a penalty amount when a promotion is disconnected during a MACD operation, if one or more predefined conditions are met.

Note Before penalty rules can be evaluated in your org, your admin must enable Context Rules and the platform cache from the CPQ Configuration Setup. See [Context Rules Framework](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.comms_context_rules_framework.htm&type=5&language=en_US) (Industries CPQ) and [Configure Your Org to Use Context Rules](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.comms_t_configure_your_org_to_use_context_rules_58449.htm&type=5&language=en_US) (Enterprise Sales Management).

1. Either from the working cart or from the Summary tab, select the promotion or product bundle you want to disconnect.
2. Choose the option to disconnect the promotion.

The system checks whether the conditions for a penalty rule are met, unless you bypass the optional penalty check.
3. If the conditions are met, the Cancel Promotion dialog displays the penalty amount.
4. Choose whether to:
    - Cancel the promotion and accept the penalty.
    - Keep the promotion.

For detailed steps, see [Cancel a Promotion in Industries CPQ](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.comms_cancel_a_promotion_in_industries_cpq.htm&type=5&language=en_US). For more detail on configuring and managing the penalty rules, see [Penalty Rules for Promotions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.comms_penalty_rules_for_promotions.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
