# Create a Cart Template

Follow the instructions to create a cart template.

1. Create any cart — an LWC cart, an enterprise cart or a CPQ cart — based on your implementation preferences, and add the desired products and promotions.

    Note If you choose to create an enterprise cart, ensure that no members are assigned to the quote before creating the template. If members are assigned, Quote Line Items (QLIs) will be duplicated based on those assignments, and the template will be created for all QLIs — which may not reflect the intended template configuration.
2. Perform any necessary configurations on the source cart.
3. Capture the cart ID of your configured cart.
4. Invoke the CPQ SaveTemplate API via Workbench, Postman or any similar tool.

    Note Ensure you replace the namespace in the payload to match your specific org.
    
    After the API successfully executes, you receive a unique Template ID.
