# Clone and Customize Managed Permission Sets

The Communications, Media, and Energy managed package provides managed permission sets out-of-the-box that provide access to the various features available in the package. Since these permission sets can provide broad access to features, you can optionally clone and customize these permission sets to provide fine-grained access to your users.

For example, the Communications Cloud Plus Runtime permission set grants access to the following features:

- All data models in the CME managed package
- Shared product catalog
- Enterprise Product Catalog
- Industries CPQ
- Enterprise Sales Management
- Multiplay Subscription Management

Say that you want a set of users to only have access to the shared product catalog. You can clone the Communications Cloud Plus Runtime permission set and then modify it to remove access to the other features. Note that when you clone and customize a permission set, the permission set license linked to the custom permission set doesn't change.

To clone and customize a permission set.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select **Permission Sets**.
2. Find the permission set that you want to clone and customize and then click **Clone**.
3. Enter a new label and API name for the permission set and then click **Save**.
4. Click the label of your cloned permission set.
5. Customize the permission set to add or remove access.

For example, say you want to remove permissions to all features except for the shared product catalog. Click **Custom Permissions** and then remove all custom permissions besides **vlocity\_cmt.Shared Product Catalog**.
