# Automatic Upgrades

Starting in Spring ‘24, we've added the Communications, Media, and Energy & Utilities (CME) managed package to the automatic upgrade process. This process aligns with the Salesforce seasonal release cycle, where new features are delivered three times a year (Summer, Winter, and Spring). With automatic upgrades, you also get early access to upcoming releases in your sandbox preview environment.

With automatic upgrades, you can effortlessly upgrade your environments, preview new releases in your sandbox, and always stay on the latest release.

- Always on the current Salesforce release:

    - Get regular patch updates with performance, stability, and security improvements.
    - Adopt the latest features.
- Reduce the effort to upgrade sandboxes and production: Salesforce upgrades the application (core and managed package) in all sandboxes and production environments.
- Preview and test new releases in your sandbox:

    - Test your customizations with the upcoming release.
    - Explore and try new features.

To receive automatic upgrades, opt in as described in the [Salesforce Industries Automatic Upgrade](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000391836&type=1&language=en_US) Knowledge Article.
