Supported Scenarios
Scenario 1
If you’re performing a new or fresh installation of Communications, Media, and Energy (CME) with OmniStudio Standard Objects, then review these considerations first.
Prerequisites:
- Confirm if your org uses OmniStudio Standard Objects. Refer to Does Your Org Use Custom or Standard Objects?
- Your org should have CME Package version 246.3 or later installed.
- Review the OmniStudio Settings.
Installation
- Install CME Package and complete all pre-installation and post-installation steps.
- Proceed to Deploy Industries CPQ in LWC with OmniStudio Enabled.
- To install any CME apps, see:
Scenario 2
If you’re using OmniStudio standard objects with managed package runtime enabled and you want to migrate to standard runtime omnistudio components and do not have any customization on Industries CPQ app or custom components.
Prerequisites:
- Make sure that your org has CME Package version 246.3 or later installed.
- Review the Omnistudio Settings.
- Make sure that the apps (for example, Media, Energy & Utilities, and other apps) are already deployed.
Installation
- Delete DefaultCPQQuoteRecordPage, Default_Opportunity_CPQ_Record_Page, and DefaultCPQOrderRecordPage Flexipages for Industries CPQ.
- Install the Industries Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) - Deploy Industries CPQ in LWC with OmniStudio Enabled and Industries Order Management (OM - Post Upgrade Steps for Order Management Winter '24.
- Proceed with the installation of Contracts Lifecycle Management (CLM) - OmniStudio Document Generation Considerations To Disable Managed Package Runtime Setting.
- Install Datapack for the Product - Install DataPack for Product Report with OmniStudio Standard Runtime.
- Proceed with Energy & Utilities installation.
- Self-Service Portal and Contact Center Console - Considerations For Using OmniStudio with Energy and Utilities.
- Communications
- Media
Scenario 3
If you have an Omnistudio license with standard objects or custom data model and have customization on the Industries CPQ app or custom components, and you are currently using managed package runtime but want to migrate to standard runtime.
Prerequisites:
- Review the migration guide: Migrate Omnistudio Components from Vlocity Industries
Managed Packages and Custom Data Model to Omnistudio Standard Runtime. Ensure you
have the necessary permissions to configure Omnistudio components and Industries
Flexipages.
Note Industries CPQ doesn't work end-to-end in this scenario. Perform some manual steps that the OMA tool doesn't handle automatically.
Installation
- Set up the Omnistudio Assistant.
- Refer to the Pre-Migration Steps to Complete Your Migration and complete the manual setup.
Verify that all Omnistudio components function correctly in the Standard Runtime environment.
Scenario 4
If you have not customized Industries CPQ App omnistudio components and are using managed package runtime with custom object model of omnistudio and want to migrate to standard omnistudio objects and standard runtime for the Industries CPQ App, you can deploy the out-of-the-box components directly.
- Media
The Industries CPQ App Omnistudio components are successfully migrated to the standard runtime. Your app now uses standard runtime instead of managed package runtime
