# User Grouping for Account Sharing Rules

Define account sharing rules for a set of users, such as public groups, or users based on the role, such as directors or sales reps.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience in <strong>Professional</strong>, <strong>Enterprise</strong>, and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled</td></tr></tbody></table>

You can group users using one of these options:

- User Role Hierarchy: Determines the role a user must have for accessing the additional accounts that the user isn’t a manager for. The defined roles must be sales org-dependent.
- Public Groups: Manually maintained groups of users that are sales org-dependent. Users of only one sales org can be configured in one group.
