# Configure Promotion Lock Status

When you add the promotion lock status setting, your users can delete promotions in any phase. Customize the setting so that users can’t delete promotions in the phases that you specify.

### Required Editions

Before you configure the RE\_Promotion\_Lock\_Status setting, add the promotion lock status by using Custom Settings.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Custom Settings, and then select **Custom Settings**
2. Find System Setting and click **Manage** next to it.
3. Click **Edit** next to the RE\_Promotion\_Lock\_Status setting.
4. In Value, enter the promotion phases that you want to exclude from deletion.

    Note Users can’t delete the promotions in the phases that you specify here.
5. Click **Save**.
