# Add a Tactic to a Promotion

A tactic describes an action or a procedure as a step in the execution of a promotion. Tactics are the lowest level of tasks that are performed for a campaign.

### Required Editions

1. From App Launcher, find and select **Advanced Promotions**.
2. Select a promotion.
3. In the Tactics related list, click **New**.
4. Search and select a tactic template.
5. Select the dates for the association, and then save your changes.
6. Edit the tactic, if necessary, and then save your changes.
