Considerations for Tours at Start-of-Day in Consumer Goods Cloud Offline Mobile App

Keep these considerations in mind when you as a delivery driver or van sales driver carry out the start-of-the-day activities for a tour on the Consumer Goods offline mobile app.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled

Consider these checks when you start a tour and review tour details:

  • You can start and modify tour details for one tour at a time. You can review the tour details only for the remaining tours.
  • You can start a tour only when the tour status is Open.
  • The tour details are read-only when a tour isn’t running.
  • The planned tour end date and time can’t be before the planned tour start date and time for a tour.
  • You can select a different warehouse as the end warehouse, based on the Consider Multiple Warehouses setting of the tour. If the Consider Multiple Warehouses setting doesn’t allow different warehouses, the system automatically assigns the start warehouse as the end warehouse, and the end warehouse field becomes non-editable.
  • To run the tour, you must be assigned as a driver for a tour.
  • You must be an associated user for the start and end warehouse.
  • The co-driver must be associated as a part of the start and end warehouse.
  • The system automatically determines the actual tour start date when the Allow Start Day Time Tracking setting in the Tour Template is Yes. The actual tour start date is set as the current date and time.

Consider these checks when you select tour vehicles:

  • The number of vehicles you can choose is based on the Consider Vehicle setting that your admin sets for the tour.
  • The odometer reading can be miles or kilometers based on the Distance Unit setting that your admin sets in the Sales Org.
  • The odometer end reading field is editable only at the end of the tour.
  • You can select only the vehicles that are assigned to the start warehouse.
  • On the Review Vehicle Details tab, you can select only the vehicle of type truck for the Truck field.
  • On the Review Vehicle Details tab, you can select only the vehicle of type Trailer for the Trailer1 and Trailer2 fields.
  • You can’t select the same vehicle for Trailer1 and Trailer2.
  • You must enter a valid odometer reading when Consider Mileage is Yes. The system shows a validation message when you provide an invalid odometer reading such as a non-numerical value.

Consider these checks during a product check-out:

  • The Product Check-Out page shows only the documents in Initial, Released, or Canceled status.
  • The display of the Reason Type field on the Product Check Out page depends on the Consider Modification Reason setting in the order template.
  • The behavior (Mandatory, Optional, or Not Required) of the Reason Type field is based on the Modification Reason field setting in the order item template.

Consider these checks when you review a product check-out (summary):

  • The system recalculates the summary of an inventory check-out document each time there’s a change in the product quantities or UoM.

Consider these checks when you scan products in a check-out document:

  • The app shows an error message when the scanned product isn’t part of the start warehouse.
  • The app shows an error message when you scan an invalid product GTIN.

Consider these checks during the signature and release process of a check-out document:

  • The Driver Name field is required when Authentication is set as Name(required) in the Signature Template and the system throws a validation error when the driver name is missing.
  • The system supports only a single signature (of the driver) in the Consumer Goods Cloud mobile app.
  • If the Signature Template has multiple steps, only the first step is considered for signature validation.

Keep these considerations in mind during the data sync on the mobile app:

  • If you try to access tour details or documents of a tour whose data is still being synced, the system shows a message to wait until the sync completes.
