# Delivery Execution with Delivery Documents

Use delivery documents to deliver preordered products based on the inventory on the truck. During delivery execution, start a visit, provide products from the truck, and obtain signatures. Generate cash or credit invoices, and print or share invoices to finalize the delivery. You can pick up sellable returns, damaged products, or empty containers by using the return documents. The delivery documents and inventory sync to Salesforce when you complete the visit.

### Required Editions

      <colgroup>
        <col>
      </colgroup>

          <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">
            <p>Available in: Lightning Experience </p>
            <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> and
              <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled
            </p>
          </td>

        </tr>
      </tbody>
    </table>

For each visit, you can perform these activities.

- Start the visit.
- Deliver preordered products by using delivery documents.
- Adjust product delivery quantities if needed based on truck inventory.
- Add or scan products into the delivery documents.
- Review delivery notes.
- Validate the precalculated price for the delivery document.
- Get a signature from the store manager, print, or share the cash or credit invoice.
- Pick up damaged products or returns by using the return document.
- Finalize and complete a visit.

During a delivery, you park the truck at the loading dock, pick up the pallets from the truck, and place the pallets in the stockroom. The store manager or clerk then validates the stock.

After you complete a visit, the visit information, delivery documents, and inventory data are synced from the Consumer Goods Cloud offline mobile app to Salesforce (Consumer Goods Cloud desktop app).

Your location and the time at the start and end of the visit are captured depending on a set configuration. See [Delivery Execution Configurations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.cg_reference_admin_delivery_execution_configurations.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

- **[Delivery Cockpit on the Consumer Goods Offline Mobile App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.cg_concept_user_dsd_delivery_cockpit.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
    On the Delivery Cockpit, view the visit summary, review customer, review order history, and complete product delivery by using delivery documents.
- **[Perform Retail Execution Activities as Hybrid User](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.cg_concept_user_hybrid_user.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
    Perform visit tasks alongside direct store delivery or van sales execution. During a delivery visit, you can complete visit activities such as store or shelf compliance checks, track assets, or create retail orders.
