Grouping customers by relevant attributes can save you time and effort because you can plan and perform tasks or activities at the group level instead of repeating them for each customer. For example:
- Create customer sets for a specific product and then plan the tasks or activities for the customer sets.
- Create and assign a promotion to a customer set instead of creating multiple promotions for individual customers.
You can create a customer set with customers from different org unit hierarchies. For example, you can create a customer set for all grocery stores, even if they belong to different accounts. Grouping all grocery stores reduces effort, improves accuracy during planning, and helps reps when the tasks to perform are identical at each store.
Here are some of the tasks that you can perform on customer sets:
- Create activities targeted at your key customers.
- Create visits for customers facing an out-of-stock situation.
- Create visits to check assets only for customers who have assets or have reported an issue.
- Define different sales activities for field sales teams that are responsible for different states.
To create customer sets easily and quickly, admins create segmentation rules with the help of rule templates and rule definitions. When the rules are run, customer sets are automatically created. For more information on customer segmentation rules, see Customer Segmentation.
If you’re dealing with a small number of customers, you can also create customer sets manually. Create a customer set manually if you know which customers you want to add and the customer list doesn't change often. For example, if your customer set is a list of local stores, which is fairly stable over time.
- Create Customer Sets
Make administration easy by grouping customers into customer sets. For example, to associate a promotion to a large number of customers, create a customer set, and then assign the promotions to the set.
