# Attachment Types and Size Limits for Consumer Goods Cloud Offline Mobile App

Know about the file types and optimal sizes for uploading or downloading attachments for the Consumer Goods (CG) Cloud offline mobile app. During synchronization, your users can download and view the attachments on the Consumer Goods Cloud offline mobile app. Similarly, images from the mobile app must be uploaded and synced to the Salesforce org. Uploading or downloading attachments that exceed the recommended sizes can cause memory usage issues and affect ‌performance.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition">
        <colgroup>
          <col>
        </colgroup>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">
              <p>Available in: Lightning Experience </p>
              <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> and
                <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled
              </p>
            </td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

Users can download and view these supported file types on the offline mobile app:

- Images: PNG and JPG
- PDF
- Microsoft Office files:
    - DOC, DOCX, DOTX, DOCM
    - XLS, XLSX, XLTX, XLSM
    - PPT, PPTX, PPSX, PPTM, PPSM
- Videos: MP4

Users can view the listed file types on the offline mobile app but can upload only images from the CG Cloud offline mobile app to the Salesforce org. Users can view and share the invoice order PDF that is automatically uploaded ‌to the desktop app after the order is released.

## Soft Limits for Attachment Sizes

These recommended limits on the upload and download sizes assure optimal performance and sync time for the offline mobile app.

| Description | Limit |
| --- | --- |
| Total size of attachments for a mobile device | 500 MB |
| Total size of attachments that can be uploaded to the Salesforce org during sync | 2 MB |

## Hard Limits for Attachment Sizes

Here are some limits that users can’t exceed when uploading and downloading attachments in the offline mobile app.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d45500e148">Description</th>
            <th scope="col" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d45500e151">Limit</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="Description" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d45500e148 ">Maximum size of an attachment that is downloaded automatically on the mobile
              app during the sync process. Automatic download of required attachments occurs
              during the first sync of the day. For example, a product picture that is required
              during a survey.</td>

            <td data-label="Limit" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d45500e151 ">3 MB</td>

          </tr>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="Description" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d45500e148 ">
              <p>Maximum size of an attachment that can be downloaded on the mobile app for
                nonessential attachments such as videos.</p>
              <p> The default attachment size is 10 MB.
                You can change this limit in the Download limit section under Mobility Settings in
                Sync Configuration. However, we recommend keeping this limit low, as it increases
                sync data load and completion time.</p>
              <p style="margin-bottom:0;">The nonessential attachments are synced
                on demand.</p>
            </td>

            <td data-label="Limit" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d45500e151 ">40 MB</td>

          </tr>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="Description" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d45500e148 ">Total number of pictures that you can capture and attach to a visit when you're
              on the offline mobile app.</td>

            <td data-label="Limit" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d45500e151 ">10</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>
