# Configure a Custom Event Object for Visits in Salesforce Maps

By default, maps are pre-configured only with events and a new calendar object must be added for visits.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter \`Installed Packages and select it.
2. Go to **Salesforce Maps**.
3. Click **Configure**, and then select **Routes & Schedule**.
4. Click **Add Custom Event**.
5. Select **Visit** as the Salesforce object, and then click **Confirm**.
6. On the Visit tab, click **Event**, and disable it.

You must disable the Event object because an event is created when a visit is scheduled, so if you keep both enabled, Core Maps Schedules considers these as overlapping entries.
