Note Before you generate account statements, turn on [Document Generation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.billing_setup_document_generation.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before Billing can create PDF documents for invoices, invoice previews, account statements, and other custom documents, enable server-side and batch document generation, then turn on Document Generation in Billing Settings. Batch document generation is required to generate invoice PDF documents from an invoice batch run.") from Billing Settings.

1. From the App Launcher, find and select **Accounts**.
2. Open the account record that you want to generate the statement for.
3. Click **Generate Account Statement**.
4. Verify the primary account that you’re generating the statement for.
5. Select the related accounts to include in the statement.
6. Select the billing transactions to include by transaction type.

By default, all invoices, credit memos, debit memos, payments, and refunds are selected.
7. Select a document template.

If you don’t select a template, Billing uses the template on the billing profile, or the Default Account Statement Template when the billing profile doesn’t specify one.
8. Select the start date.

The statement reflects the current outstanding balance and can’t calculate the balance for a past end date. Therefore, the end date defaults to today and can’t be changed.
9. Select how to sort the transactions, and select the sorting order.
10. Generate the statement.

The system generates the statement asynchronously. When processing completes, the PDF is saved in the Files related list on the account.
