Create a search configuration based on the Vehicle Searchable Field object. You can also create a search configuration based on the Vehicle object. You can select fields from the Vehicle object to use as criteria, search result display columns, and as group and aggregation criteria.

1. From Setup, enter Criteria in the Quick Find box, then select **Criteria-Based Search and Filter**.
2. On the Search Configuration tab, click **New**.
3. Select **Default** as the configuration type.
4. Click **Next**.
5. To provide the basic details, follow these steps:
    1. Enter a name for the configuration.

The API Name field is automatically populated.
    2. For Searchable Object, search for and select **Vehicle Searchable Field**.
    3. For Searchable Object Configuration, search for and select an active configuration record for Vehicle Searchable Field.

You can update this field later.
    4. Enter a description for the configuration.
    5. Click **Next**.
6. To select the search and filter criteria, follow these steps:
    1. Move fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list.

We recommend that you select fields that describe a vehicle’s attributes and other widely known details so that the user can easily refine their inventory search.
    2. Use the up and down arrows to arrange the order in which the selected fields are displayed to the user.
    3. Click **Next**.
7. To select the search result display format, select **List** or **Card**.

The card-based view for search results comes with a predefined set of fields that are displayed by default. You can modify or extend these fields based on your requirements. See [Explore Omnistudio Components for Vehicle Inventory Search](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_search_omni_components.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use the card-based format in the Criteria-Based Search and Filter component to view vehicle search results in a simplified manner. Access search results faster through a display of relevant vehicle attributes on separate cards instead of a table.") for a list of the predefined omnistudio components that support the card-based view for vehicle inventory search.
8. Click **Next**.
9. To select the search result columns for a list-based view, follow these steps:
    1. Move fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list.

We recommend that you select fields that represent critical information about a vehicle and its location that helps the user determine inventory transfers and replacements.
    2. Use the up and down arrows to arrange the order in which the selected fields are displayed to the user.
    3. Click **Next**.
10. To define the distance criteria, follow these steps:
    1. For Unit of Measure, select **Kilometers**, or **Miles**.
    2. For Value, enter the higher limit for a distance range so that vehicles within the range are filtered as search results.
    3. Click **Add**.
    4. Add up to 6 values for distance range so that the scope of inventory search can be incrementally extended.
    5. For Relative Location, select a location-type of field based on which the distance is calculated for a vehicle.

By default, you can select either Vehicle Current Location or Inventory Location Coordinates as the relative location.
    6. Click **Next**.
    7. If you don’t want the search to consider distance parameters, click **Skip this step**.
11. To select the group and aggregation criteria for search results, follow these steps:
    1. For Result Display Mode, select **Grouping and Aggregation** or **Multiple Fields**.
    2. Move fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list.

We recommend that you select fields that can have a wide range of values in case the user wants to segment the results based on these values.
    3. Use the up and down arrows to arrange the order in which the selected fields are displayed to the user.
    4. Click **Next**.
    5. If you don’t want the search to group and aggregate your search results, click **Skip this step**.
12. To select the sorting criteria for search results, follow these steps:
    1. Move up to 8 fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list.

We recommend that you select search result fields that can have values that the user wants to sort alphabetically or by date.
    2. Use the up and down arrows to arrange the order in which the selected fields are displayed to the user.
    3. Click **Done**.
13. To select the actions for the search results, follow these steps:

    1. Move up to 10 search actions from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list.

We recommend that you select a search result action of type Lightning Web Component and of variant Vehicle Transfer.
    2. Use the up and down arrows to arrange the order in which the selected actions are displayed to the user.
    3. Click **Done**.
    4. Select All Records for Bulk Actions.

When you need to perform actions on all search results, use the Select All feature to quickly select records across multiple pages without manually checking each box.

    - In the Search Results section, check the Select All checkbox in the header row.
    - A banner appears showing how many records are currently selected and giving you the option to Select all records (not just those on the current page).
    - Click Select all \[number\] records in the banner to select every record in the search results (up to 2,000 records).
    - The banner updates to show the total count selected and provides a Deselect All option.

        Note

        - If you manually deselect individual records after selecting all, the banner updates to reflect the accurate selection count.
        - When you load more results by scrolling, newly loaded records are automatically selected if "Select All" is active.
        - The selection state persists as you scroll through pages, so you can review your selections before taking action.
        - If Maximum Selection is configured for the search, the "Select all across pages" option is automatically disabled to prevent exceeding the configured limit.
14. To activate, edit, or delete the record, follow these steps:
    1. Click a search configuration record name from the list on the Search Configuration tab on the Criteria-Based Search and Filter page.
    2. To start using the configuration, click **Activate**.
    3. To modify the configuration, click **Edit**.
    4. To discard the record, click **Delete**.
