Vehicle appraisal for repossession reuses the Appraisal Management feature, adapted for
repossession. Running the wizard creates an Appraisal, an Appraisal Item, one or more Appraisal Item
Provider Valuations, and an Appraisal Adjustment. For general appraisal setup and use, see Set Up
Appraisal Management and Create Appraisals in Automotive. Before specialists run the wizard, enable
Appraisal Management and Automotive Components for Appraisal Management, add the required picklist
values, and configure valuation sources. See Custom Picklist Values for Appraisal Management and Set
Up Appraisal Valuation Sources for Vehicles. For the repossession wizard, configure
AutomotiveRepossession_GetValuationRecords rather than
AppraisalManagement_GetValuationRecords. The wizard supports vehicle-based
collateral only. The Repossession Item must look up an Asset that has a Vehicle.
The wizard captures:
- Vehicle details such as make, model, and year.
- Condition Type — Excellent or Need Repair.
- Market valuations from providers, from which the specialist selects one.
- A proposed valuation with an adjustment and a calculated Final Value.
Provider valuations come from the customer's own integrations to external valuation sources, not from a built-in calculation. The wizard calculates Final Value by applying the adjustment to the selected provider value. The Appraisal can reference a Repossession, and each Appraisal Item looks up a Repossession Item. So a specialist can capture an appraisal after a repossession and before it.
To run the wizard, see Appraise a Repossession Vehicle.
