Repossession Management in Automotive Cloud helps lenders manage vehicle repossessions from delinquency monitoring through agency assignment and recovery. This glossary defines the objects and terms used in Repossession Management. It follows a running scenario: Riverbend Auto Finance pursues recovery of a financed vehicle after the borrower, Maya Torres, becomes delinquent on her auto loan.

## Core records

Repossession

The overall repossession case for an account. In the scenario, one Repossession record represents Riverbend's case against Maya Torres's delinquent account. It links to the Collection Plan, Financial Account, and Account.

Repossession Item

Each financed vehicle or asset pursued within a case. If Maya's loan covers two vehicles, the case has two Repossession Items, one per vehicle. Each item links to one Asset.

Collection Plan

The delinquency-management record for the account. Riverbend starts pre-repossession from Maya's Collection Plan, the recommended entry point.

Financial Account

The loan or lease being recovered against. An alternative entry point for starting pre-repossession.

Asset / Vehicle

The financed vehicle tied to a Repossession Item—for example, Maya's car record.

## Compliance framework

Repossession Notice Rule

Defines which legal notices are required and under what conditions (jurisdiction, delinquency days, outstanding balance, required notice type, cure period, and delivery channel). Configured as rows in the Repossession Notice Rule Eligibility decision table.

Repossession Notice Log

Auditable evidence that a required notice was sent—recipient, delivery channel, status, timestamp, and the rule it satisfies. Salesforce stores the evidence; it doesn't send the notice.

Record Alert

When a Repossession is created, the framework compares required notices against the logs and raises an advisory record alert for each missing notice. The alerts don't block repossession creation.

Collection Plan Milestone / Financial Account Milestone

A milestone the automation creates when a Notice Log is recorded—for example, "Notice Sent." It starts in an Active stage. A scheduled-path flow moves it to Expired on the date derived from the notice rule's cure period. Collection Plan Milestone is a Collections and Recovery object and requires the Collections and Recovery capability.

## Collateral, appraisal, and title

Appraisal

The valuation record for a vehicle being considered for recovery, reused from the Appraisal Management feature. Running the wizard creates an Appraisal, an Appraisal Item, one or more Appraisal Item Provider Valuations, and optionally an Appraisal Adjustment.

Appraisal Item

The vehicle being valued within an appraisal. Each Appraisal Item looks up a Repossession Item.

Appraisal Item Provider Valuation

A market valuation from an external source. The specialist selects one provider value—the repossession wizard doesn't combine values across providers.

Appraisal Adjustment

A positive or negative change applied to the selected provider value to reach the Final Value.

Associated Asset Documents

The ownership documents for the vehicle and the confirmed titles derived from them. When document validation is enabled, the specialist can select Save and Extract to extract and validate the document with AI-Powered Document Validation.

## Recovery cost

Repossession Item Cost

An itemized cost record tied to a Repossession Item, capturing type, cost book, status, and total cost. The total sums its cost-allocation line items automatically.

Repossession Item Cost Item

One line that breaks down a Repossession Item Cost (name, type, optional cost book entry, product, and amount). Selecting a cost book entry populates the product and cost.

Recovery Estimate

The recovery figure shown in the Basic Information section of the Collateral tab, calculated as appraisal value minus repossession cost. Recovery costs are captured as Repossession Item Cost records, whose totals feed the Recovery Estimate.

## Assessments and review

Assessment

A Discovery Framework template applied to a Repossession. Common assessments apply to the whole Repossession; item assessments apply to a Repossession Item. Adding a template to multiple targets creates one assessment per combination.

Manager Review and Approval

The stage where a Repossession Reviewer accepts or rejects each assessment response with comments. Rejected responses return to the pre-repossession analyst for rework. On approval, the Repossession moves to Active Repossession.

## Active repossession

Repossession Item Vendor

The record that stores a recovery-agency assignment for a Repossession Item, with an active indicator.

Repossession Item User

An optional record that captures the person associated with a repossession item.

Recovery Agency (partner Account)

A recovery agency modeled as an Account enabled as a partner account, with a Business Profile whose Business Partner Type is Recovery Agency. The profile links to a Service Territory and carries a rating. Search returns only these accounts.

Repossession Item Processing Hold

A hold on processing for a repossession item.

## Where you work

Repossession Console

The Lightning console app for working vehicle repossessions in one place. Navigation moves across Accounts, Assets, Repossession records, Repossession Items, Financial Accounts, and Collection Plans without switching apps.

Collections Overview tab

Brings collections information—Promise to Pay, Hardship Program, Cases, and Payments—onto the Repossession record. Requires the Collections and Recovery capability. Cases on this tab are Salesforce Case records related to the Collection Plan, not the Repossession.

Timelines

Two shipped configurations that show different information. The Repossession timeline shows the repossession's items and activity, plus related payment schedules, email messages, and tasks from the Collection Plan. The Repossession Item timeline shows the item's repossession activity, processing holds, and asset location (vehicle sighting) records.
