User Permissions Needed
To create or edit a Repossession Notice Log: Industries Repossession Management, cloned with the Repossession Compliance Administrator system permission enabled

To create or edit a Repossession Notice Log, you need the Repossession Compliance Administrator system permission, enabled on a clone of the Industries Repossession Management permission set. Before you create a repossession notice log, configure the repossession notice rules. See Configure Repossession Notice Rules. Salesforce doesn't send the notice. You send it through your own delivery channel.

  1. Send the notice through your own delivery channel.
  2. From the App Launcher, open Repossession Notice Logs, and then click New.
    Note
Note There's no Repossession Notice Logs related list on the Collection Plan or Financial Account. So create the log from the Repossession Notice Logs tab, or from the Repossession Notice Logs related list on the related Repossession Notice Rule record.
  3. On the New Repossession Notice Log form, set the Related Item to the Collection Plan or Financial Account, and select the Repossession Notice Rule the notice satisfies.
The Repossession Notice Rule is required in practice. The milestone-creation flow fires only when it's populated, and the rule ties the log to the notice requirement it satisfies.
  4. Select the Notice Type that matches the rule, and enter the Recipient, Delivery Channel, Delivery Status, and delivery confirmation timestamp.
  5. Save the record.

The log is available for the compliance framework to match when a Repossession is created. See Repossession Compliance Framework in Automotive Cloud.

Note
Note Saving the log also drives milestone automation directly. If the log has a Repossession Notice Rule selected, saving it immediately triggers the milestone-creation flow. The flow calculates the milestone expiration deadline as the log's creation date plus the matched rule's expiration days. It then creates the corresponding Collection Plan Milestone or Financial Account Milestone. If you save the log without selecting a rule, no milestone is created and the expiration timer never starts. This automation runs only after you clone and activate the reference milestone-creation flow, so activate it during setup. See Activate the Milestone Creation and Record Alert Flows for Repossession Notices.
Note
Note Delivery Channel and Delivery Status on the notice log are dynamic picklists—add the values your business uses before creating logs. Also make sure every Notice Type value has a matching Milestone Type value on Collection Plan Milestone (and Financial Account Milestone). If it doesn't, saving the log fails with an INVALID_OR_NULL_FOR_RESTRICTED_PICKLIST error when the milestone-creation flow runs.
