# Configure Repossession Notice Rules

Define your organization's notice requirements as rows in the Repossession Notice Rule Eligibility decision table so the compliance framework can determine which notices a repossession requires.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions.</td></tr></tbody></table>

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small permission">

        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">

          </tr>

        <tbody>

            <td data-label="User Permissions Needed" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d22689e63 ">To configure the decision table:</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d22689e63 ">Customize Application</td>

          </tr>

Turn on Repossession Management Decision Table. [Decision Tables](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.concept_decision_table.htm&type=5&language=en_US) is included with your Automotive Cloud license and doesn't require separate enablement. See [Enable Repossession Management in Automotive Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_repossession_enable.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

1. From **Setup**, in the Quick Find box, enter `Decision Table`, and then select **Decision Tables**.
2. Open **Repossession Notice Rule Eligibility**.
3. Confirm the source object is Repossession Notice Rule.
4. Add a rule row.
5. Specify the rule's values: Jurisdiction, Purpose, Minimum Delinquency Days, Outstanding Balance, Effective Start Date, and Notice Expiration Days.

    Notice Expiration Days sets the cure period. The milestone-creation flow adds it to the notice log's creation date to calculate each milestone's Expired Date.
6. Select the required Notice Type.

    On screen, notice types appear as values such as NoticeOfDefault, NoticeOfIntentToSell, and NoticeOfRepossession.
7. Select the Notice Delivery Channel.
8. Save the decision table.

When a Repossession is created, the framework compares these rules with the Repossession Notice Logs recorded for that Collection Plan or Financial Account. See [Repossession Compliance Framework in Automotive Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_repossession_compliance_framework.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

Note Notice Delivery Channel, Purpose, and Notice Type on the rule are dynamic picklists. Add the values your business needs before you configure rules, or the fields have no options to select. Add the same Notice Type values as Milestone Type values on Collection Plan Milestone (and Financial Account Milestone). This lets the milestone-creation flow copy them. See [Add Milestone Type Values for Collection Plan Milestones](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_repossession_add_milestone_type_values.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

Configuring notice rules doesn't create compliance milestones by itself. Milestones are created from Repossession Notice Logs only after you clone and activate the reference milestone-creation flow. Activate it as part of setup. See [Activate the Milestone Creation and Record Alert Flows for Repossession Notices](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_repossession_activate_milestone_creation_flows.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
