# Repossession Compliance Framework in Automotive Cloud

Define required repossession notices, record that each notice was sent, and show alerts when notices are missing.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Automotive lenders must satisfy state-specific and lender-specific notice requirements before they can repossess a vehicle. The framework gives lenders a configurable way to define which legal notices each Repossession requires. It also gives them a place to record auditable evidence that they sent each notice. And it provides an automatic check that surfaces missing notices.

Note Salesforce stores evidence that a notice was delivered. It doesn't send the notice. Use your own delivery channel, and then create a Repossession Notice Log.

Two objects work together:

- **Repossession Notice Rule** — defines which notices are required. Evaluation uses the Repossession Notice Rule Eligibility decision table.
- **Repossession Notice Log** — records each notice as auditable evidence (recipient, delivery channel, status, timestamp, and the rule it satisfies).

When a specialist creates a Repossession record, the framework compares the required notices against the notice logs recorded for that Collection Plan or Financial Account. It then creates a record alert for each missing notice. Separately, each time a Repossession Notice Log is created against a matching Repossession Notice Rule, the framework generates a Collection Plan Milestone or Financial Account Milestone based on that log.
