Track repossession notices as milestones on a collection plan, each with an expiry date calculated from the matched notice rule.

Each milestone represents a step in the notice process, such as sending a right-to-cure notice or a cure period expiring. Collection Plan Milestone ships with no Milestone Type values. So an admin must add these as picklist values before the framework can create milestones with them. See Add Milestone Type Values for Collection Plan Milestones. The notice process typically uses these milestone types:
- Right-to-Cure Notice Sent
- Right-to-Cure Period Expired
- Notice of Intent to Repossess Sent
- Notice of Sale / Post-Repossession Disclosure Sent
When you create a Repossession Notice Log record, automation creates a matching Collection Plan Milestone in the active stage. The milestone's Milestone Type matches the log's notice type instead of a shared default value. This works only if you've added that value to the Milestone Type field. For details, see Add Milestone Type Values for Collection Plan Milestones.
The framework calculates the milestone's expiry date from the matched notice rule. A scheduled-path flow then moves the milestone from active to expired on that date.
Salesforce ships reference flows for milestone creation and expiry:
- To activate the creation flow, see Activate the Milestone Creation and Record Alert Flows for Repossession Notices.
- To activate the expiry flows, see Activate the Milestone Expiry Flows for Repossession Notices.
