# Configure Record Alerts for Automotive Cloud

Help users take note of record changes with timely notifications. You can create record alerts manually in your org but it’s more likely that you create record alerts via integration techniques with external systems.

### Required Editions

You can set up record alerts and customize the Vehicle page layout to show alerts from external telematics and navigation systems, such as an error for overheated engines, or a warning for faulty GPS. You can also show users record alerts for other records in your org such as notifications for achieving asset milestones, alerts on warranty expirations and renewals, and warnings for parts recalls.

Record alerts are also added to the Service Console for Automotive, which helps service agents and dealer reps in effective interactions with callers. Users can act promptly based on the severity and urgency of record alerts.
