## Basic Configuration

- Review your assigned licenses on the Company Information page in Setup. Plan your implementation based on whether you have a Customer Community license or a Partner Community license. - Enable Digital Experiences and select a domain name. See [Enable Digital Experiences](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.networks_enable.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
- Set up roles in your org so that you can share records with a group of users. Also, most Experience Cloud licenses require roles in your org. See [Create a User Role](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.admin_roles.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
- Review the capabilities of Partner Community and Customer Community Plus for Automotive. See [Experience Cloud Licenses for Automotive](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_experience_cloud_licenses.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Experience Cloud for Automotive is available with both Customer Community Plus and Partner Community user licenses. You can create a customer portal or a partner portal depending on which license you have. Review the capabilities offered by each license.").
- Clone the Partner Community or Customer Community user profile. See [Create or Clone Profiles](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.users_profiles_cloning.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
- Create a partner or customer user. See [Create a Partner User for Automotive](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_experience_cloud_partner_user.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "An automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) can create a partner portal using Experience Cloud and collaborate with dealers on agreements, vehicles, forecasts, and rebate programs. Partners can manage assets, visits, action plans, warranties, financial information, work orders, leads and opportunities. They can use the portal to manage the sales and service lifecycle of vehicles and parts that they sell. Dealers can also schedule test drive and vehicle service appointments on behalf of prospects and customers.") or [Create a Customer User for Automotive](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_experience_cloud_customer_user.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "An automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or dealership can create a customer portal using Experience Cloud and help customers manage their vehicles and parts, warranty terms, and people relationships. Customers can access information such as the list of vehicles and assets they own, manage other account and contact participants such as service technicians, sales dealers, financiers, and track the major milestones in their vehicle’s lifecycle. Customers can also schedule service appointments to repair and maintain their vehicles, and track their financial milestones, transactions, and households.").
- Assign the required permission set licenses to the user. See [Experience Cloud Permission Set Licenses for Automotive](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_experience_cloud_psl.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Give your partners and customers access to Automotive Cloud features with Experience Cloud sites. When you create an Experience Cloud site, you decide which features your customers or partners need access to. For example, you can provide dealers the ability to manage vehicles and track leads, but you don’t want to give them the ability to create and manage visits. Or, you want your customers to only view their household information and schedule vehicle service appointments.").
- Edit the Standard Object Permissions section of the user profile by providing the required levels of read, edit, create, and delete access on objects. See [Edit Object Permissions in Profiles](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.perm_sets_object_perms_edit.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
