# Prerequisites for Using Data Visualization in Automotive Cloud

There are certain prerequisites that must be fulfilled before you configure Data Cloud visualization flexcards in your org.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

Before users can visualize data from Data Cloud in the Automotive app, you must complete these configurations.

## Prepare Your Org

Enable both Automotive Cloud and Data Cloud in your org. Additionally, verify the SSOT package and make sure that the required data model objects are available in your org. See [Configure Settings Before Using the Automotive Data Kit](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_data_cloud_setup_prereqs.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before you use the Automotive Cloud data kit and the Automotive Cloud specific data model objects, complete the basic setup required to work in Data Cloud.") for more information.

Install the latest version of the Omnistudio package and complete the post-installation steps to get access to the flexcards and their related components. See [Omnistudio for Automotive Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?language=en_US&id=sf.auto_omnistudio_package.htm) for more information.

Ingest data from telematics systems and other external systems to populate the data model objects. If you use the flexcards to visualize the data from a data model object, make sure that the most current data from external systems get regularly synced in the data model objects. See [Ingest External Automotive Data Into Data Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.auto_data_cloud_ingest_data.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To ingest vehicle and customer data into Data Cloud, connect your external data source to Data Cloud. For example, you can bring in data from your telematics providers to analyze vehicle health and monitor driver performance. You can also bring in data from dealer management systems and captive finance systems related to customer behavior, revenue and sales history, and financial information.") for more information.

## Assign Permissions

Assign the required permissions to users to manage data in Data Cloud. Make sure that your users have Read access on the objects and fields that are used in the calculated insights.

Assign the Data Cloud Metrics Visualization, Automotive Foundation User, and the Omnistudio User permission sets to the users who view the flexcards on record pages. You must also assign the Omnistudio Admin permission set to the users who want to customize the flexcards and other Omnistudio components for visualization.

To view a flexcard on a record page, the user must have access to the object and the page layout. For example, if you add the flexcard to an Opportunity record page, then give users access to the Opportunity object and the page layout. If you add the flexcards to a custom page or tab, give users access to the page and configure tab visibility so that it’s not hidden in the org.

## Configure Calculated Insights

Install the Automotive and Manufacturing data kits and activate the calculated insights so that flexcards can show the data from the calculated insights.

To show the calculated insights that aren’t included in the Automotive and Manufacturing data kits, create a data kit package that includes the custom calculated insights and deploy the package in your org. Or, directly create the calculated insights in the org where Automotive Cloud and Data Cloud are enabled. Activate the calculated insights before you add a flexcard on a record page that visualizes data from the calculated insights. Set up a schedule so that the calculated insight is refreshed regularly.

## Add Flexcards to Lighting Pages

Use Lightning App Builder to add a flexcard to a page layout. Whereas the predefined flexcards can be added to the Asset, Account, and Vehicle pages, you can add the extensible flexcards to any page of your choice.

## Modify Flexcards with Multiple Aggregation Criteria

For some of the flexcards that visualize calculated insights, you must clone and modify the flexcards. If a calculated insight has more than one Group By clause, the flexcard shows duplicate values for each aggregation criteria.
