Note If Tax and Revenue settings aren't available, contact Salesforce to turn on the Tax and Revenue org permissions.

Important The admin user's profile must include the Customize Application and Manage All Data permissions. A Salesforce admin profile includes these permissions by default. A standard user profile doesn't, and that user can't turn on the org preference.

Use a dedicated data space for tax data to isolate it from other Data 360 workloads. You can use the available default data space or create one. For more information, see [About Data Spaces](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_spaces.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

## Create a Data Space for Tax Data

Create a dedicated Data 360 data space for tax data and grant permission set access to it.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Spaces, and then select **Data Spaces**.
2. Click **New** and then create a data space for your tax data.
3. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select **Permission Sets**.
4. Select the **Public Sector Tax and Revenue for Community Users** permission set.
5. Click **Data Cloud Data Space Management**, click **Edit**, select the tax data space, and then click **Save**.

## Turn On Tax and Revenue and Select the Data Space

Turn on Tax and Revenue Management and select the Data 360 data space you created for tax and revenue.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Tax and Revenue, and then select **Tax and Revenue Settings**.
2. Turn on **Tax and Revenue Management**.
3. From the **Data 360 Data Space** dropdown menu, select the data space where your tax data is stored.

The data space that you select here is used for all downstream configuration, including identity resolution, DMO tagging, and data governance policies.
4. Click **Save**.

## Enable Person Accounts

Create a business account record type for Account, and then turn on person accounts for individual tax payers. Business tax payers don’t require person accounts.

For more information, see [Enable Person Accounts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.account_person_enable.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

1. From Setup, go to Object Manager, and then select **Account**.
2. Click **Record Types**, and then click **New**.
3. For **Record Type Label,** enter Business Account.
4. Leave the **Existing Record Type** as **Master**.
5. Select **Active**.
6. Make the record type available to your standard profiles, and then click **Next**.
7. Select a page layout, such as **Account Layout**, and then click **Save**.
8. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Person Accounts, and then select **Person Accounts**.

The prerequisite checklist shows green for record types after you create the business account record type.
9. Complete the acknowledgment, and then click **Enable**.

## Set Field-Level Security for Identification Number

Set field-level security for the Identification Number field on the Identity Document object so that the field is visible on Identity Document records.

1. From Setup, go to Object Manager, and then select **Identity Document**.
2. Set field-level security for the **Identification Number** field so that the appropriate profiles can view the field.
    1. Under Fields & Relationships, select **Identification Number.**
    2. Click **Set Field-Level Security.**
    3. Check **Visible** for each field you want to give access to.
