Note
Note Tax and Revenue Management for Public Sector is an add-on to Public Sector Solutions. Your org also requires Data 360, Agentforce, and Experience Cloud. Contact your Salesforce account executive for license details.

Tax and Revenue Management for Public Sector Solutions brings together three components that work as a system to modernize taxpayer services.

Taxpayer 360 Data Model
A set of Data 360 data model objects (DMOs) that represent every object in the tax lifecycle, including tax types, accounts, filings, payments, assessments, and supporting documents. Ingest tax data from your systems into these DMOs to build a unified, query-ready taxpayer profile. For more developer reference and setup, see Tax and Revenue Data Model Reference in the Public Sector Solutions Data Model Gallery and Tax and Revenue Management in the Public Sector Developer Guide.
Self-Service Taxpayer Portal
An Experience Cloud site built on the Public Sector Tax and Revenue Portal template. Registered taxpayers log in and review their own filing history, account balances, payments, refund status, and an AI-generated summary of their tax profile. The portal queries Data 360 and enforces row-level identity isolation so each taxpayer sees only their own records.
Tax Advocate Agent
An AI-powered conversational agent embedded in the taxpayer portal. The agent answers questions about tax policies and procedures, and taxpayer-specific questions like, “Where is my refund?” and “Do I have outstanding liabilities?” by using a configurable knowledge base and account-specific information from Data 360. See Tax Advocate Agent.

Who Uses Agentforce Tax and Revenue

Tax Administrator
Sets up and configures the feature, manages licenses and permissions, and maintains the taxpayer portal and Agentforce agent. See Set Up Tax and Revenue.
Taxpayer
An authenticated community user who logs in to the taxpayer portal to view their own tax records and interact with the Agentforce agent. The Tax Portal supports users who have the Customer Community Plus and Customer Community Plus Login user licenses.
  • Assign Tax and Revenue Permissions to Internal Users
Confirm that internal admins have Customize Application, and assign Data Cloud Architect to users who configure Data 360.
  • Set Up Tax and Revenue
Turn on the Tax and Revenue org preference, use the default data space or create one for tax data. Then select that data space in Tax and Revenue Settings. Enable person accounts and set up security for taxpayer identification.
  • Configure Taxpayer Portal Access to Tax Data
Tag the Tax and Revenue data model objects for portal visibility. Then create a data governance policy so that authenticated taxpayers can read their own data in the portal.
  • Create the Taxpayer Portal Site
Create an Experience Cloud site by using the Public Sector Tax and Revenue Portal template.
  • Register Taxpayer Portal Users
Onboard taxpayers with a bulk upload or a registration page, and store each taxpayer's identification number and identification type on an Identity Document record.
  • Assign Permissions to Taxpayer Portal Users
Assign the permission set license and permission sets that taxpayer community users need to access the taxpayer portal.
  • Customize the Taxpayer Portal
Use Experience Builder to customize your taxpayer portal site. Change tab labels, reorder and rename fields and columns, update branding, set the currency format, customize error and empty states, and customize the AI Summary prompt.
  • Taxpayer Portal Data Providers and Expressions
Reference for the TaxpayerProfile and TaxpayerActivity data providers and related platform expressions. Data providers and expressions supply the live taxpayer data to Tax Center components in the Taxpayer portal.
  • Tax Advocate Agent
Use the Tax Advocate agent to answer taxpayer questions about filings, filing assessments, refunds, payments, and tax policy in a chat window on your taxpayer portal.
