To create and manage Experience Cloud sites: Create and Manage Experiences AND Customize Application

The Public Sector Tax and Revenue Portal template includes three prebuilt pages: a Tax Center page where taxpayers view their data, a login page, and a home page. Customize the pages in Experience Builder.

Before you begin, complete these setup tasks in order:

  1. Enable Digital Experiences.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and then click Enable.
Refresh the page after you enable Digital Experiences. For more information, see Enable Digital Experiences.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Allow using standard external profiles for self-registration, user creation, and login, and then save your changes.
  2. Create a role and assign it to the admin user. A role is required to create portal users.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Roles, and then select Roles.
    2. Click Set Up Roles, and then add user role.
    3. Assign that role to the admin user.
  3. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and then select All Sites.
  4. Click New.
  5. From the template gallery, select Public Sector Tax and Revenue Portal, and then click Get Started.
  6. Enter a name for the site, and then click Create.
  7. After you create the site, click Builder to open Experience Builder.
  8. Use the template's login page.
    1. Open Workspaces, and then select Administration.
    2. Click Login & Registration.
    3. For Login Page Type, select Experience Builder Page.
Taxpayers open the template login page. To customize login, see Customize Login, Self-Registration, and Password Management for Your Experience Cloud Site.
  9. Allow unauthenticated guest users to open the site.
Site-level public access gives guests access to pages such as the home page. It can also override page access, so set the Tax Center page to require a login in the next step.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and then select All Sites.
    2. Next to the taxpayer portal site, click Workspaces.
    3. Select Administration, and then select Settings.
    4. Under General, select Guest users can see and interact with the site without logging in, and then save your changes.
  10. Require a login for the Tax Center page.
    1. Open the site in Experience Builder.
    2. From the Pages menu, select Tax Center.
    3. Open the page settings, set Page Access to Requires Login, and then save your changes.
  11. Use Preview to review the site before making it live.
  12. Click Publish to activate the site.
