# Set Up Semantic Search

Configure AWS services, connect them to your Salesforce org, and add semantic search to record pages and Agentforce agents.

- **Prerequisite: Prepare Your AWS Environment** — Set up the AWS account, region, source bucket, and metadata convention that search requires.
- **Step 1: Enable External Storage Search** — Turn on the feature and grant access in your Salesforce org.
- **Step 2: Set Up a Search Index** — Configure Amazon Bedrock or Amazon Kendra to index your S3 files.
- **Step 3: Set Up the Search API Gateway** — Expose the search service through an API your org can call.
- **Step 4: Connect the Search Service to Your Org** — Add a named credential and configuration so your org can run searches.
- **Step 5: Add Semantic Content Search to a Record Page** — Place the search component where users need it.
- **Step 6: Set Up External Storage Skills with Agentforce** — Configure an Agentforce agent to help users search through a chat interface.
