# Work with Draft Claims

Save a claim as a draft when you aren't ready to submit it. A draft retains the claim information that you saved so that you can reopen the claim, finish it, and submit it later.

Before you begin, complete the steps in [Claims Submission Setup Prerequisites](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.aps_claims_submission_prerequisites.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Enable settings, turn on related features, and assign permissions before you configure claim submissions in Public Sector.").

## Save a Draft Claim

1. In the Provider Portal, select **Claims**.
2. Select an unclaimed delivered service.
3. Select **Create Claim**.
4. Enter the claim information.
5. Upload an invoice.
6. Select **Save & Close**.

The saved claim is available in **Draft Claims**.

## Resume and Submit a Draft Claim

1. In the Provider Portal, select **Claims**.
2. Select **Draft Claims**.
3. Select **Edit** to open a draft claim, or select multiple drafts and select **Open Draft Claims**.
4. Review the claim information.
5. Select **Next**.
6. Confirm the claim information.
7. Submit the claim.

The confirmation page shows information about the submitted claim, including its claim ID and claimed amount.
