# Configure Invoice Extraction for Claim Submission

Use Unstructured Document Processing to extract supported invoice information and populate claims in the Service Provider Portal.

## How Invoice Extraction Works

In Experience Builder, configure the Service Provider Portal to extract invoice information with Unstructured Document Processing. Experience Builder uses predefined JSON properties to map the extracted information to payment request fields.

When providers upload invoices, the extracted information appears in the corresponding claim fields. Providers review the information, correct or complete it as needed, and then submit the claim. If you don’t configure invoice extraction, providers enter the claim and invoice information manually.
